61-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Accident near Rosemont Boulevard

TUCSON, AZ (December 19, 2022) – Friday night, Tobie Lee Fares was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Speedway Boulevard.

The incident happened just after 9:45 p.m., in the 5100 block of East Speedway near Rosemont Boulevard on December 2nd.

Per reports, the driver of a westbound 2018 Nissan Sentra struck Fares who was standing outside of a marked crosswalk in the middle lane.

Officers from Operations Division Midtown and Tucson Fire Department arrived and transported Fares to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, 61-year-old Fares later died at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with officers and was determined to not be impaired at the time. Consequently, no arrests or citations have been made and further investigation is underway.
