67-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed near Clarisse Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 7, 2022) – Friday morning, Richelle Rodrigues was involved in a fatal pedestrian crash on Heath Road.

The collision happened at around 4:00 a.m. south of Clarisse Street.

According to reports, Rodrigues was driving in the area when he struck a pedestrian who was walking in the northbound lanes of Heath Road. The impact of the collision caused the 67-year-old pedestrian to sustain serious injuries.

First responders arrived shortly after and pronounced the 67-year-old man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, 41-year-old Richelle Rodrigues was not injured.

Authorities have ruled out intoxication from alcohol or drugs as factors in the incident.

At this time, Bakersfield officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the Heath Road crash.
