Traffic Accident near Blue Lake Claimed the Life of One Rider

BLUE LAKE, CA (October 24, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a person was killed after a motorcycle crash on Highway 299.

The fatal collision happened around 12:30 p.m., near Blue Lake in Humbolt County, per initial reports.

According to the CHP, a westbound motorcycle collided with a logging truck traveling the opposite direction, for reasons unknown.

Unfortunately, the rider sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Moreover, investigators ruled out intoxication as a contibuting factor in the collision.

The total number of parties involved and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation at this time.
