One Dead after Pickup-Truck Accident near Happy Valley Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 12, 2022) – Friday morning, a semi-truck crash on Interstate 17 left one person dead.

The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m., near Happy Valley Road on October 7th.

According to initial reports, the semi-truck driver pulled over to the side to secure his cargo when he was struck by a pickup-truck.

Responding officers arrived and pronounced the semi-truck driver dead at the scene. The identity of the man was withheld, next of kin was notified.

Meanwhile, one northbound lane of the Interstate was shut down until noon before it was later reopened.

At this time, the cause of the crash has not yet been determined and further investigations are still underway.
