Los Angeles has always had its own sense of style, and L.A. Fashion Week's opening party displayed a unique style all its own. The celebration took place on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the historic Alexandria Hotel and Ballroom in downtown Los Angeles, kicking off the first of many style events in October. While our city's take on Fashion Week is very different then the fashion exhibitions in New York or Paris, the Los Angeles edition was a bit of a paradox; it was at once an elegant and a DIY affair, featuring a diverse audience of dignitaries from Indonesia and Thailand, as well as audience members clad in edgy attire. The opening step-and-repeat featured a runway show by Peruvian designer Noe Bernacelli attended by celebs, influencers and the ever watchful eye of L.A. Weekly.
