One or two of the suspects were female juveniles, Smith said. The robbery allegation appears to be attached to one of the teens as well, he said. One of the suspects is about 14 years old, police said.

The arrests came swiftly after the body of 24-year-old Ji was found in an apartment near campus Thursday morning.

Police said they believed that he was attacked at 12:45 that morning in the area of 29th Street and Orchard Avenue. The victim walked home to the 1200 block of 30th Street and was reported dead in that apartment about 7 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

A USC official said Ji died from a head injury.

Police planned a 4:30 p.m. news conference to announce more details about the Ji case.
