The National Whatever Day scam gets awfully tiresome, but there is one good byproduct — all the free stuff. Monday, Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day, which means there are quite a few coffee promotions going on around town.

From espresso in edible cups to beloved chain doughnut store coffee, see below for the coffee deals around L.A.

Dunkin Donuts, which has recently returned to L.A., has a new dark roast coffee out, and they're giving away free medium cups of it on Monday Sept. 29. For the following week (through Oc. 5), you can buy a cup of the new dark roast coffee for 99-cents. 1132 Wilshire Blvd. Santa Monica; 310-576-9200.

McDonald's will be giving away small cups of coffee during breakfast hours. Multiple locations.

The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. will give away a cup of hot or iced coffee with the purchase of any menu item on Monday, Sept. 29, at both of its L.A. locations. 262 South Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills; 310-786-7400 and 8736 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Westchester; 310-645-2243.

Zia Valentina at the Original Farmers Market will serve free espresso in an edible chocolate-covered waffle cup to the first 100 customers who show up on Monday between 10 and 11 a.m. 6333 W 3rd St. Fairfax; 323-934-3660.
