The IACP, which would be the International Association of Culinary Professionals and not the International Association of Chiefs of Police — which comes up first on a Google search, proving maybe that cops can SEO better than writers — has announced their 2010 cookbook award winners. The honors took place yesterday at the IACP's 32th conference, held in Portland, Oregon, with Ruth Reichl and The New York Times' Kim Severson hosting. A list of winners after the jump.
In the General category, the winner was Stephanie Alexander's Kitchen Garden Companion. John Besh won in the American category, for My New Orleans: The Cookbook. Ruth Reichl won for Gourmet Today, in Compilations; and Thomas Keller and Dave Cruz won in Chefs and Restaurants for their Ad Hoc at Home. Cookbook of the Year was Rose Levy Beranbaum's Rose's Heavenly Cakes, which also won in the Baking: Savory or Sweet category. And the Peoples' Choice Award went to The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen: Nourishing, Big-Flavor Recipes for Cancer Treatment and Recovery, by Rebecca Katz and Mat Edelson.
