If you hightail it down to the the 3600 block of West Slauson Avenue right now, you might be able to nab one of the 10,000 turkeys that Jackson Limousine Service has secured for its annual Thanks-giveaway, which opened at 8 a.m. this morning.

Even better, if you wheeze in by 10:30 a.m., you'll get to see the mayor rolling around all fat 'n' happy-like in 10,000 raw turkeys. (Actually probably just standing there doing his best Homecoming wave, but a girl can dream, can't she?)

We didn't realize there were 10,000 turkeys in the entire modern world, let alone Los Angeles, but according to the limo service, that's nothin':

“It seems like a large number, but when you think about the large number of people who really need it, we're not really even scratching the surface,” organizer Fatty Jackson told ABC 7. We don't think there's anyone on Earth we'd rather take a turkey from than a dude named Fatty Jackson.

With unwavering dedication, turkey-hungry Angelenos have been camped out at the giveaway site since Saturday night — which probably would have been enough time for a team march to the nearest woodsy area and a fresh round of turkey-stranglin'. But then they would have missed out on the extras: carrots, celery, green onions, cucumbers, fruit, rice, cookies, Cheetos and more. Cheese fingers on Thanksgiving Day? Now that's what we're talkin' about, Fatty!

According to five-year giveaway vet Janice McJimson, she's mostly just trying to help out Fatty's luxury business venture.

“It's a privilege just to be out here, and help the limousine service to keep doing what they doing, because if we didn't come out here, they wouldn't be able to do what they do,” McJimson says in the video. We're not really sure how that works; eating free turkeys sounds like a very Pilgrim type of help. But hey — 'tis the season!
