Vehicle Crash near Crown Valley Parkway Injured One, Prompted Heavy Traffic

MISSION VIEJO, CA (May 18, 2022) – A traffic accident along the 5 Freeway left at least one person injured Wednesday morning, police said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:44 a.m. on the southbound freeway, near Crown Valley Parkway.

As a result, one of the cars overturned. Meanwhile, officials issued a SigAlert at 11:49 a.m., which lasted at least a full hour.

Mission Viejo authorities also advised residents to steer clear of the area while SigAlert is in place. Furthermore, one unidentified person was injured in the collision.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time. An active investigation is currently underway.
