24-Year-Old Man Dead, 55-Year-Old Man Injured after Two-Vehicle Crash near Pacific Avenue

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (May 8, 2024) – One man died Thursday afternoon, in a head-on crash on West Riego Road and Pacific Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m., on April 25th. Reports indicate that a 24-year-old man from Roseville veered his gray Toyota Corolla into the opposite lane on Riego Road, resulting in a head-on collision with a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck carrying a Bobcat tractor.

Upon arrival, the California Highway Patrol found the Toyota driver trapped inside his vehicle. Due to the severity of his injuries, paramedics pronounced him deceased.

The 55-year-old driver of the pickup truck, from Sacramento, was transported to UC Davis for further medical attention.

Authorities have ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash, and no further details have been disclosed. The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
