Levity has rapidly become one of the hottest acts in bass music. We caught up with members John Hauldren and PJ Carberry backstage before and after their B2B set with ALLEYCVT at Zombie Apocalypse Music Festival in Long Beach, where they reflected on their astronomical rise from fans in the crowd to artists headlining the festival stages they once dreamed of playing. “This music changed our lives,” John says. “It changed who we are as people.” The group also opened up about the inspiration behind the next chapter of “Escapism,” staying grounded through sold-out tours and major festival sets, and the advice they’d give aspiring producers chasing their own breakthrough. “The only thing that can stop you is yourself. More than 45 years after “The Evil Dead“ changed horror forever, the franchise is still alive and well. This time, the torch has been passed to French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček, whose “Infested“ caught Sam Raimi's eye and led him to direct “Evil Dead Burn.“ Ahead of the film's release tomorrow, July 10, Vaniček tells us about how he stepped into one of horror's most beloved franchises, balancing relentless brutality with humor, the series' famously chaotic lore, and his battle with the MPAA over the film's violence. “When you start to work in this universe, you are like, ‘Okay, so what are the rules?’ It's like, there are no rules,” Vaniček says with a laugh. @sebvanicek

BLXST returns with “Labor of Love,” his first fully self-produced album and one rooted in family, vulnerability and growth. The LA artist reflects on reconnecting with his purpose through fatherhood, honoring the home his grandfather built, carrying the torch for the West Coast, and why slowing down helped shape the most personal project of his career. “I just feel real proud of this body of work, knowing that it comes from an authentic place,” he says. “I think it’s going to stand the test of time. SoCal's growing MENA cultural scene reached a new milestone as the inaugural OC MENA Festival welcomed more than 24,000 attendees to the OC Fairgrounds for a weekend of music, comedy, cuisine and art celebrating the Middle Eastern and North African diaspora, June 19-21. Featuring artists including Mohammed Assaf, Dystinct, Tul8te, Issam Alnajjar, Anees, MC Abdul and Dana Salah, attendees praised the organizers for delivering on the promise of a massive, inclusive MENA cultural celebration. Through conversations with Anees, MC Abdul, Dana Salah, and organizer Razan Kesbeh, one message rang clear: representation, connection and community matter, and OC MENA Fest delivered all three in a celebration organizers and attendees hope returns for years to come. @ocmenafestival
