For the first time in Los Angeles, Whiplash In Concert will take center stage at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills on Friday, Feb.7, and Saturday, Feb. 8, bringing the intensity of the Academy Award-winning film Whiplash to life with a live 18-piece jazz big band ensemble and world-class drummer conducted by the film’s Oscar-winning composer, Justin Hurwitz.
Damien Chazelle’s critically acclaimed film about an ambitious music student and aspiring jazz drummer will screen alongside Hurwitz’s dramatic score, which will be performed live. Whiplash garnered three Oscars, including Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, and Best Supporting Actor for J.K. Simmons.
The live-to-film concert will feature access to a full bar with specialty cocktails and some of LA’s favorite food trucks. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit MusiCares LA wildfire disaster relief fund.
