As Los Angeles police this week searched for more possible victims of molestation in its case against MTV celebrity Shane Sparks, his lawyer has spoken out, telling TMZ the allegations represent “extortion, Hollywood style.”

Police “believe there may be more victims out there and are asking them to come forward,” but the attorney for Sparks, a judge on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew and choreographer for Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, says the allegations stink because the victim waited 15 years — until after Sparks became a television success — to come forward.

Police on Friday arrested the 40-year-old, who teaches at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood, based on a felony warrant that charges him with two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor and two counts of oral copulation with a minor. Sparks was held at Van Nuys jail in lieu of $590,000 bail. Officers arrested him at his North Hollywood apartment in the 10900 block of Bluffside Drive.

Attorney Steve Meister insists Sparks is innocent and says his client will “fight to clear his name.”
