MkX unveils his new single, “WANT U BAD,” a track that emerges from the pop scene with a fierce blend of talent and vision that feels refreshingly modern.
As “MAN ON A MISSION” continues to gain traction across international music outlets including MTV US, MTV Latin America, and MTV Brazil, MkX breaks through with “WANT U BAD,” a track co-written with industry heavyweights Myah Marie, who has worked with Britney Spears, RuPaul, and Selena Gomez, and Brandon Colbein, who has previously teamed up with Zayn, Kehlani, and Hayley Kiyoko. “WANT U BAD” combines influences from the late 2000s and early 2010s, fused with powerful melodies and irreverent lyrics.

Reflecting on his journey, MkX points to the resilience it takes to maintain a unique sound in an industry that often pushes for conformity: “It takes a lot of patience, strength, and willpower to stay true to your artistry and creativity. Over the years, different people in the industry have tried to change my sound and image to be less outlandish, attempting to ‘straight-wash’ me. I’ve been on a mission not only to express my individuality, but also to show others how liberating it is to express yourself to the fullest.”
From a young age, he was captivated by music, preferring cassettes, CDs, and a Fisher-Price tape recorder over toys, recording his first vocals at age three. By five, he taught himself how to create visual effects and later learned guitar. In grade school, he mastered GarageBand and expanded his skills with Pro Tools, Logic, and Final Cut Pro. Using vocals, synthesizers, guitars, and keyboards, MkX developed a unique sound, performing locally from age seven. With over 300 shows in his teens, he opened for stars like Ariana Grande and Christina Perri in a duo with his sister.
