Be careful if you plan on dressing up like a girl for Halloween, or if dolling up is simply a part of your lifestyle and identity. There's a suspect on the loose who gave a pretty bad beatdown to someone the LAPD is describing as a transgendered woman.
Hate crime or personal issue? Cops aren't saying. It happened on Oct. 4 about 1 a.m. on La Brea Avenue north of Melrose Avenue, police said. Video captures a glimpse of the suspect:
According to police:
A suspect knocked the victim to the ground, kicked her in the face and struck her head with a bottle. Among the victim's injuries was a broken jaw. Additional suspects may also have participated in the attack.
Authorities are looking for a short, Latino (about 5 feet, 6 inches) who was wearing an orange flannel shirt and who appeared to have gotten into a 2000 or later white Chevy Suburban.
Might know him? Call detectives at 213-922-9234 or 213-922-8268.
