Updated, 03/01, 7:37 a.m.: The nectar of life flows no longer at The Iceacreamists in London. After receiving two anonymous complaint about “whether a shop should be selling edibles made from other people's bodily fluids,” British government authorities have seized the shop's breast milk ice cream, reports CBS. Sold under the name Baby Gaga, the breast milk, “Baby Gaga” ice cream proved so popular, it sold out within hours when it debuted last Friday.
Officials are now testing the ice cream with the full cooperation of Icecreamists and its founder, Matt O'Connor, to insure that no viruses, such as hepatitis, are being passed through breast milk. O'Connor says the milk was properly screened before being pasteurized and turned into ice cream. He stands firm in his commitment to continue selling Baby Gaga.
“As far as we are aware there is no law prohibiting a business from selling breast milk ice cream,” O'Connor said in a statement.

This ice cream is local, natural and totally free-range, but will the health department approve? The Icecreamists, a shop in London's Covent Garden, today began selling ice cream made from breast milk.
Called “Baby Gaga,” it's made with Madagascar vanilla pods and lemon zest then served in a martini glass with liquid nitrogen piped in through a straw. It doesn't come cheap: £14 (~$23) per serving. The milk comes from mothers who answered an advertisement on Mumsnet. (£15 per 10 ounces, and donors had to undergo a health screening.)
I'm not sure it warrants the £14 price tag. But it tastes fantastic. Light and creamy with just enough of a vanilla tinge… this ice cream tastes better than almost any I've had before… this might catch on.
In fact, Baby Gaga was so popular, it sold out, according to the Daily News. Their milkshake really does bring all the boys to the yard.
