Dennis RomeroAdam 12, the sometime DJ for President Obama's campaign fund-raising and a photographer as well, embarked on a project over the weekend to bring attention to the Trayvon Martin case.
He photographed several musical and cultural luminaries in hooded sweatshirts. (Teen Martin was unarmed and wearing a “hoodie” when he was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Florida in February).
The DJ is calling it the “Hoodies 4 Trayvon” project. Subjects include:

-“Freeway” Rick Ross, the rock cocaine kingpin who was the center of controversy over the CIA's role in bringing drugs to the 'hood.

The photo session happened Saturday at Siren Studios, which offered its space for the shoot after Adam 12 (Adam Bravin) tweeted a request for space for the project.
He says:
I can't change what happened, but I have a camera and can take pictures of my friends, and their friends, wearing hoodies, in an attempt to raise awareness and support for the Trayvon Martin tragedy.
The jock has secured a website, www.hoodies4trayvon.com, where he hopes to allow people from around the world to post their own hoodie photos in support of Martin. (The site was not yet live).
He also plans another shoot this week.
“I have a bunch of friends that are in PR and have a wide social media reach that have contacted me and offered to help spread the word,” he says, and “that's what it's all about.”
