Wanna see the hottest hits and soon-to-be hits really pop on the dance floor? There really is no place like Tigerheat, the exuberant, mostly gay gathering held every Thursday at Avalon. It'd been a while since we popped in, so we forgot just how interactive this one could be. We defy anyone who enters to walk the whole dance room without getting humped, bumped, sung to, and hung on at this lively dance party.

There is always something to look at here, both on the floor and on the giant screen; the club's main selector Ray Rhodes does DJ/VJ sets exclusively so you get constant visuals for each song.

A hot clip — at least here — can make or break a tune, and we definitely got turned on to cuts we might have ignored otherwise. Of course, everybody's loving Willow Smith's “Whip My Hair,” which saw tresses flying at the club last week, but how had we not heard or seen Katy Perry's amazing “Peacock” before? This song and accompanying video sure fit like a pair of tighty-whiteys at Tigerheat.

While Perry, Pink and Ke$ha blast at this raging boogie-fueled bacchanal, Rhodes was spinning/showing some surprisingly electro-fueled cuts as well. We asked the DJ/VJ to share his top 10 songs to spin at the club right now. Here's his list (“in no particular order”) with a few of the more interesting clips. While electro, “blog house” and hip-hop heads might be familiar with some of these, they've officially gone pop at this point. They sure turned up the 'Heat.

1) Barbra Streisand – Duck Sauce (easy to lose count on the cameos in this one!)

2) Check It Out – will.i.am & Nicki Minaj

3) Hello – Martin Solveig featuring Dragonette

4) Miami 2 Ibiza – Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah

5) Seek Bromance – Tim Berg featuring Amanda Wilson

6) Move It – Culcha Candela

7) Takover Control – Afrojack featuring Eva Simons

8) The Time (Dirty Bit) – The Black Eyed Peas

9) Nein, Mann! – Laserkraft 3D

10) Believer – Freemasons featuring Wynter Gordon

It didn't make his current list, but here's our fave, Ryan James Yezak's video for Perry's “Peacock,” which has to be the hot-twink equivalent to KP's girl-teazey “California Gurls.” We kinda like the song better.

Tigerheat is every Thursday at Avalon and we just learned the promoters will also be joining forces with Popstarz at the Factory/Ultra Suede every Friday.
