Mixology101 Cocktail Classes
Bartenders Joseph Brooke of Mixology101 and Salvatore Calabrese from London teach about cocktail culture and mixing techniques. “Journey Through the Classics” on June 25 features classic cocktails such as the martini and old-fashioned, while “Sizzling Summer Entertaining” on June 26 teaches how to pair summer cocktails with food. Tam O'Shanter's 90th Birthday Celebration
The restaurant billed as “L.A.'s oldest family-owned” still in its original location is reviving classic dishes and offering specials (two-course prime rib dinner for $19.22; desserts for 90 cents) to celebrate its 90th birthday. A ceremony with Glendale and L.A. officials happens at 4:30 p.m., followed by 1920s-era music by Ian Whitcomb at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
