Chefs Vartan Abgaryan (Public Kitchen), Greg Daniels (Haven Gastropub), Daniel Mattern (Cooks County), Bernhard Mairinger (BierBeisl) and Kris Morningstar (Ray's and Stark Bar) join FIG chef Ray Garcia to grill up their best homemade brats. Sides, snacks and beers from Smog City, Hopf Wheat and Noble Ale Works will be included.

Jeffrey Pilcher Discusses Planet Taco
The Angeleno love affair with tacos has been well documented. But when did we first begin eating tacos, and why? Food and history scholar Jeffrey Pilcher (also author of ¡Que vivan los tamales!: Food and the Making of Mexican Identity), explores this history, and other stories of Mexican cuisine's evolution, at a talk at USC. Come for the lecture, stay for the taco reception catered by Chichen Itza. Pilcher's new book is Planet Taco: A Global History of Mexican Food.
