One ticket will you buy unlimited samples of wines from such wineries as Justin Vineyards Cabernet at Monsoon Cafe. Ticket sales end two hours before the event starts.

Food Truck Haven

Downtown's Angel City Brewery invites some of your favorite food trucks for what it calls a “modern picnic.” No tickets are needed for this gathering. Food trucks will be there in shifts. From 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., expect to find Melt Bus, Belly BombZ and Jogasaki. White Rabbit Filipino Cuisine and Ta Born Brazilian are scheduled to join from 6-11 p.m.

Delicious Chili & Brewfest

It's going to be one part first annual chili cookoff and one part local brewfest at the Queen Mary on Sunday. The cookoff will feature five categories, including red chili and chili verde. Overall winner of the chili cookoff will qualify for the 2014 World's Championship Chili Cookoff.

WHAT: Delicious Chili & Brewfest

WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 1, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WHERE: Queen Mary, 1126 Queens Hwy., Long Beach; (562) 435-3511.

COST: $10 online, $15 at the door (general admission for ages 12+); $39 online and $45 at the door (VIP for ages 12+). Kids under 5 may attend for free. Admission doesn't cover chili and beer tastings.
