Lucques' Cassoulet Night

Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne are hosting their 11th annual Cassoulet Night at Lucques. The evening features a three-course menu spotlighting cassoulet – a traditional Southern French dish of slow-cooked beans and meats. Offerings include a salad of young greens and Gabriel Coulet Roquefort with local walnuts, banyuls and wildflower honey; cassoulet de maison with duck confit, garlic sausage and white beans; and, for dessert, Gascon almond cake with roasted apples and prune-Armagnac ice cream. Wirtshaus Home Beer Brewing Class
German restaurant and beer garden Wirtshaus offers its first beer-brewing class, led by David Mazzonetto and Efren Padilla. This how-to class will cover the basics of home brewing and will include family-style platters of Wirtshaus' sausages, Bavarian pretzels, brewing samples and a complimentary half-liter of German draft beer. Joseph Shuldiner's Vegan Cuisine at Mohawk Bend

For one night, Mohawk Bend will serve plant-based dishes from Joseph Shuldiner's cookbook, Pure Vegan. Dishes include maple chipotle pecan popcorn; Brussels sprout salad; polenta with mushroom, hazelnut and fig; and sweet cream for dessert. Shuldiner will be present for a meet-and-greet.
