Joy Silverman, director of Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, stands inside the Cotton Exchange Building at Third and Main streets. Silverman organized the Cotton Exchange Show, the granddaddy of L.A. art spectaculars, in which 240 artists were shown. After the exhibit ended in June, the building was demolished to make way for the Ronald Reagan State Office Building.
