Tilt Rips’ Sam Kiki Snagged Two Prized Cards From Bryce Hall in Vegas: ‘Bro Took My Grails’

Bryce Hall joked that Sam Kiki took his ‘grails’ after the Tilt Rips founder bought two prized Pokémon cards from his personal collection.

In the Pokémon world, a “grail” is the card you’d do almost anything to own, the crown-jewel pull that anchors an entire collection. Some carry seven-figure price tags, like the ultra-rare Pikachu Illustrator that Logan Paul sold for $16.49 million in February. Others are worth more in memories than dollars. Either way, prying one loose from a collector is no small feat.

Sam Kiki managed to grab two.

On June 23, the poker veteran shared a video from Vegas CAC after striking a deal with influencer Bryce Hall at the ClubWPT Gold booth. “Bought 2 cards from his personal collection,” he wrote on Instagram. According to the clip, Kiki walked away with a Munch “The Scream” Pikachu promo and a Luigi Pikachu for a combined $31,500.

If those names don’t ring a bell, they absolutely do in collector circles. Munch Pikachu debuted in 2018 as part of Japan’s Munch: A Retrospective exhibition, with Pikachu recreating Edvard Munch’s iconic painting. Luigi Pikachu came two years earlier during a limited Pokémon and Nintendo crossover that dressed the franchise’s mascot as Mario’s green-hatted brother.

Today, both have become some of the hobby’s most recognizable modern promos, with top-graded copies regularly selling in the five figures.

Shortly after posting, Hall popped up in the comments section to mourn his loss: “Bro took my grails .” And the replies only snowballed from there. “Those are some heaterssss,” one person wrote. “Good deals, good vibes, nice picks man,” added another. A few even ribbed Hall over the price, including one who claimed, “Damn I sold these both for 1/4 of that,” while others declared a clear winner: “@senortilt getting the best of him here.”

If anyone can appreciate a good pull, it’s Kiki. The MonkeyTilt founder is also the man behind Tilt Rips, the digital platform he launched earlier this year that lets collectors buy and open real Pokémon packs online — then ship, vault, or resell whatever they hit.

He’s not just hunting dream cards for himself, either. Last week, Kiki asked the Tilt Rips community on X which “chase grails” they wanted to see land in future packs. “I’ll go buy them,” he wrote. “Send me pics + serial numbers and I’ll grind.”
