The Yard, formerly located in the backyard of the Polish restaurant Warszawa in Santa Monica, is enjoying a new space on Broadway. Officially opened last March, The Yard will celebrate its grand re-opening tonight at 9 p.m. to showcase new menu items, new decor and introduce executive chef Chris “C.J.” Jacobson, who you may remember from season three of Bravo's Top Chef.

Mixologist Blake Landis will concoct specialty drinks, while Jacobson greets the crowd and serves American-style tapas. The idea behind the restaurant is to create a community surrounding arts and Westsiders, explains owner Sean Norris, who encourages locals to meet his chef and experience what the revamped eatery has to offer, such as an extensive drink list including eight craft beers on tap, 30 bottled beers, boutique wines by the glass, and market-fresh seasonal cocktails. Weekly specials include “the big cheese” Tuesdays, wine and beer tastings with food pairings on Wednesdays and singer/songwriter performances on Sundays.

The Yard: 119 Broadway. Santa Monica, (310) 395-6037.
