The Venice Beach Club opens on the boardwalk today on the corner of Rose Ave.,  with a fresh new blue and white motif reminiscent of a European beach club in the space that used to house the Venice Ale House.

Inspired by Capri’s La Fontelina,  Managing Partner of the concept Abdi Manavi is also the creative force behind  Dive Palm Springs. The Creative Director started his hospitality career in the early ’90s at legendary venues like Studio 54, Patina and Crustacean, as well as  Supperclub Hollywood and Sparrows Lodge.

Venice Beach Club’s beachy vibe is in stark contrast to the former dark biker-style ale house, and was designed by  Amir Taj, whose childhood in the South of France is reflected in the breezy indoor and outdoor space  – blue for the sea, white for the sand.  From custom cabinetry to ocean-toned mirrors and linen-wrapped walls,  design touches include Dolce & Gabbana wallpaper, surfboards turned tables, and effervescent lighting.

The menu from Venice-based chef James Samuel includes house-made pizzas, steak frites, and locally sourced crudo, with a focus on seasonal vegetables.  There are breakfast tartines like sea salt ricotta toast and a full bar that features a variety of spritzes.
