Known for drawing a mind-boggling lineup of high-profile acts, Jack Black and Kyle Gass' annual comedy-and-music extravaganza, Festival Supreme, has been called “Tenacious D's Coachella” (by us, at least), except that it's even better because it's funny on purpose and you don't have to haul your buns all the way to the desert.
The lineup for this year's fest — which takes place Oct. 29 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall — was just announced today. Frankly, it's a little smaller than past years, but there's still plenty of star power — Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Flight of the Conchords, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen — and it includes something called “Music of Wet Hot American Summer,” which I'm trying to get details about but which, in the meantime, we can safely assume will be pretty amazing (I'll update this post when we find out who/what exactly it is).
If it wasn't apparent from the poster, this year's fest is outer space–themed: Musical acts appear on the Milky Way stage, the Crab Nebula Stage hosts the comedians, and the Expo Hall will become a “space disco.” They're also promising a vintage arcade and rides; costumes encouraged because it's Halloween weekend. Check out the full lineup on the poster below.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. at festivalsupreme.com/tickets.
