That crypt directly above Marylin Monroe's resting place in Westwood is back on the auction block. In August the spot went for $4.6 million, but the winning bidder pulled out, apparently after he was unable to put up the money.

On Monday it goes back up for auction for 10 days on eBay, with Auction Cause administering the circus with the hard sell: “Spend eternity above Marilyn Monroe! Secure your place among the stars

at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery. The crypt

belonging to Fred Poncher, located directly above Marilyn Monroe, will

be up for sale in an exclusive auction starting October 19.”

Administrators at eBay say they vetted bidders and threw out more than a few phonies, but the first auction was a wash anyway.

Poncher's widow, Elsie Poncher, is putting the crypt up for auction so that she can pay off a $1.6 million mortgage on her Beverly Hills home. He bought the spot from Joe DiMaggio after the baseball great and Monroe divorced.

Fred Poncher, who died 23 years ago, asked his wife to bury him face down above Monroe. He said, “If I croak and you don't put me upside down over Marilyn, I'll haunt you the rest of my life,” Elsie Poncher is quoted as saying in August.

With Halloween approaching, all we can say is, sweet dreams.
