This past September brought the first-ever festival in celebration of the movement practices known as SOMA. It was a bigger success than the organizers anticipated: At the conclusion of a week of workshops, discussions and other activities, the culminating performances sold out. Those turned away and those who want another look can take heart and catch two encore performances that offer chances to encounter artists Emilie Conrad, Camile Maurine, Cass Phelps, Teri Carter and others demonstrating the improvisational movement form that is enjoying a swell of interest from dancers, actors and a range of other performers. Note: reservations are required. Continuum Studio, 1629 18th St., No. 7, Santa Monica; Sat., Dec. 1, 7: 30 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 2, 4 p.m.; $20; $15 seniors & students.
