If you were driving down the freeway and a snake unexpectedly joined you for the ride, what would happen?

You'd probably be lucky to keep it on the road, right? That was the case for Angie Guerrero, who was scared by a snake while she was driving in Santa Clarita over the weekend:

She was riding along on the 14 freeway with her dog when she was visited by a snake, says CBS Los Angeles.

The discovery almost made her hit a car in the next lane, but she kept things under control, pulled over and dialed 911.

You might not have blamed arriving CHP officers if they didn't believe Guerrero: They couldn't find any snake — at first.

And when they did spot it, it hid under the dash board, the station says. It took cops nearly an hour to finally take the critter into custody.

It ended up being a harmless, non-poisonous snake. But it sure was a road hazard.
