Caribbean artist LeTreez embraces a positive but laidback outlook on music, production, and the future with his latest single ‘Margiela.’ The song is a lean, 2-minute quick shot, reminding you how quietly brilliant this rap producer and singer-songwriter can be.

LeTreez has released his latest single ‘Margiela,’ as he continues his prime aim of becoming a “symbol of excellence” within the modern-day music industry.

The artist, who hails from the Dutch island of St Maarten in the Caribbean, has become a force of nature within the music world over the last ten years. He has muscled his way into the industry, released some significant hits, and secured placement deals left, right, and center.

For those who haven’t properly been introduced to him yet, it’s probably because LeTreez has been doing most of his music work quietly in the background. Over the last ten years, he’s been making songs and beats that have been synced on various major TV shows. His music has appeared on networks like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Showtime, and Hulu, while one of his most significant achievements was landing a placement on the HBO show The Idol trailer.

But all of the titles don’t entirely do LeTreez justice. His ability to work with various fellow artists, swapping ideas and making magic through collaboration, sets him apart. As well as being an innovative artist, he is also a producer and mix engineer – dedicating himself full-time to his craft. He has collaborated with over 100 artists, seamlessly transitioning between genres – from rap and pop to dancehall and Afrobeat – and his diverse work ethic has allowed him to reach a global audience.

Now, LeTreez has released more of his new music to the world. His latest beat, ‘Margiela,’ is a beautiful two-minute track defined by its understated yet deceptively simple nature.

In the song’s lyrics, LeTreez reminds listeners that he’s at the top of his game and has chosen the independent artist lifestyle. Therefore, he’s not in the habit of worrying about missed opportunities. He reaffirms as much in the chorus: “I ain’t stressing…This s**t come and go/I already know.”

But it’s the production that stands out on this track. While other artists have made the distinctive trap sound dull, LeTreez’s trap beats are effervescent. The synth and bass feel relaxed and wavy in all the right ways, fittingly complementing his lyrics.

In discussing his plans, LeTreez has stated that he wants to keep making music similarly but on a grander scale. For the artist, this means continuing to make his songs while “creating timeless music alongside fellow collaborators.”

Other artists should count themselves lucky that LeTreez is out there. He’s not just a solid fan favorite; he’s also a musician’s musician.

LeTreez’s new single ‘Margiela’ is out on May 17.
