Blake G. has shared his latest single, ‘The One For Me,’ as his star in the music industry continues to rise.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Blake G. is of Italian descent, with traces of South African heritage from his father. This distinctive background helped inform Blake G.’s music knowledge and turn him into the artist he is today – with the inspiration for his songs coming from multiple genres.
Above all, though, Blake G. seeks to make songs with a broad appeal. He is a natural-born tenor and isn’t shy about wanting his unique voice to reach as many ears as possible.
With that in mind, this gifted vocalist admits he can sing “just about anything.” But he also readily admits that the root of his love for singing comes from the doo-wop crooners of the 50s and 60s. As with many of the best vocalists in America right now, he seeks to create a singular experience with his voice and tackle the big songwriting themes of love, relationship, happiness, and fulfillment within his lyrics.
Aside from emerging as a successful artist in recent years (with hundreds of thousands of streams across all platforms), Blake has also dabbled in the TV world. He debuted on Univision’s Despierta America, where he got a chance to perform to a broadcast audience of millions. Since then, he has had appearances on multiple other shows.
With a portfolio of impressive performances, Blake has had the privilege of opening for legendary artists such as Backstreet Boys, Stephanie Mills, En Vogue, TLC, and O-town. Additionally, he captivated audiences at the renowned DAER nightclub at Seminole Hardrock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL, for the premiere of the film Mob King. Furthermore, his single “Forever” debuted on a Times Square billboard, solidifying his presence in the music industry.
Another breakthrough came for the artist when he secured Latin legend Emilio Estefan to produce his first EP, Resurreccion, released to acclaim from his fans.
His newest single, ‘The One For Me,’ dropped on December 9 and is currently available on all streaming platforms (you can also go through the goldmine that is his back catalog).
According to the artist, ‘The One For Me’ is “a modern take on the nostalgic 2000s sound we all know and love.” Inspired by the kind of Latino-infused R&B-pop artists were perfecting during the ‘00s, Blake G. offers up his version of this sound. He said the track emerged from what he deemed a “traditional catchy pop song.” Lyrically, ‘The One For Me’ is inspired by Blake G.’s relationship with his wife and how nobody should be afraid to go after what they want romantically.
The song sticks to a well-worn love song style, but Blake G. makes it unique with his effortlessly pleasing voice, which can go from smooth to arresting at the drop of a hat.
