SEXY SECRETS

The Roosevelt Hotel’s Tropicana Club ain’t quite the impenetrable fortress of famousness it used to be, but it definitely still has its moments — such as the Victoria’s Secret poolsideparty two Mondays ago for its new Very Sexy Makeupline. Victoria’s amazonian “Angels” — including Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karolina Kurkova —were all in attendance, posing for photos in front of a surreal backdrop of themselves, almost naked. Also present, less naked, were Jeremy Piven, Alyssa Milano, Jessica Simpson and sis Ashlee (whose new schnoz seriously makes her near-unrecognizable in person; we’re talkin’ Jennifer Dirty DancingGrey different here). The war paint, which sold out that day, is pretty sassy, and, as the gal who did our li’l makeover told us, they debuted it here because “L.A. is the capital of sexy.” We know it.

X-HAUSTED

Corporate America’s commercialization of street culture or much-needed validation of extreme sports? The debate will probably never cease, but one thing’s for sure: When the X Games come to town, skateboarders, BMXers and attention-whore celebs definitely come out and party. Wednesday’s Saturn/Hurley “Night Before X Games” soiree at the hot lot behind El Capitan theater kicked things off with performances by Phantom Planet and Wyclef Jean, attracting the likes of Pink and hubby Carey Hart, Eva Longoria, Jack Osbourne, and Leonardo DiCaprio .?.?. In last week’s column we noted that Privilege was covered with a large white tent, but upon closer inspection, we saw that it’s not a tent at all, but a collection of white banners advertising owner Sam Nazarian’s forthcoming nightlife venues and ventures. We finally got to see the club’s new all-white interior too, at Maxim’s X Games party, where Z-Trip and sk8ter boi Chad Muska spun their wheels for partiers — including the contestants from Rockstar: Supernova, along with Tommy Lee and Gilby Clarke. (Cheesecake alert: All the gals from the show will be featured in a Maxim pictorial next month.) A short-haired Tara Reid was also in the house, holding court at a bottle-service table in the white-padded, cell-like dance room — though we’re happy to report that she was not the bottle blonde involved in a gnarly car accident outside the club later, which witnesses told us was caused by the commotion Lee incited when leaving the club by motorcycle.?.?. After Privilege, it was off to Avalon for the biggest bash of ’em all, Subaru/DC Shoes/Vapors mag’s X Games shindig featuring dynamic rhythm duo DJ-AM and Travis Barker. This one was so packed, we barely got in (hundreds weren’t so lucky), though inside we did see Venus Williams and Reid again — two gals who obviously know how to get their “wild on.”

AFTERNOON DELIGHT

The temps may have been mild, but the sounds and water games were anything but at Little Radio’s Summer Camp on Sunday, where The Clean Prophets, Giant Drag and a duo called Last Straw rocked the indoor/outdoorbarbecue. Unfortunately the latter’s set outside may have been too lively — it was cut short by the cops. Slippin’ & slidin’ with the sloppy cool crowd will resume next week, though, and continue through the end of August. See www.littleradio.com for future band lineups.
