A dramatic confrontation, a song and dance, a bit of mystery.
So goes the weekend. The powers of perception become razor sharp on Friday as
Mercury and Mars meet in couple-centered Libra. Later that night, affectionate
Venus in “May I serve you?” Virgo may be thrown for a loop by its
annual opposition to erratic Uranus in Pisces. What turned the tide? Saturday
night could bring another power struggle as the Virgo sun challenges what secretive
Pluto in Sagittarius has been hiding. Midweek is mop-up time; finish what's
on your plate before the endless summer ends.

Aries

Make sure the people who matter most are getting what they need, and that includes
your attentive ear. Because your eager Mars ruler in your Libra complement meets
Mercury this weekend, you're apt to rush through the information the Messenger
imparts and miss an important point. Take time to reread your mail, crucial blogs
and the script. You don't want to sacrifice depth of understanding so you
can be a Johnny-on-the-spot, raring to go you-know-not-where. Writers should take
advantage of this biannual merger of brains and bravery before it's gone.

Taurus

Will you break up just to make up? Same old same-old is usually comforting, but
when your Venus ruler confronts disruptive Uranus, as it will this weekend, you're
apt to undergo the shock of recognition that changes everything. Whether “change
is good” applies to your relationship depends on just how critically you
view it. Remind yourself that Venus won't be in demanding Virgo forever
and that, as the goddess of love finds favor with generous Jupiter (Tuesday),
your attitude may soften. A stroke of luck can do the trick.

Gemini

“Smart as a whip” pretty much describes how you'll feel when
Mars meets your Mercury ruler on Friday. Sarcastic, maybe a bit bitter too. A
sharp tongue could be your best defense if Venus occupying your Virgo residence
and rebellious Uranus in your Pisces midheaven direct flak your way when they
oppose each other. Although this might not be the most peaceful of weekends, there'll
be plenty of material for social commentators (e.g., neighborhood gossips). Athletes,
actual and armchair, also benefit from the advantage ambitious and energetic Mars
bestows.

Cancer

Whether or not the Moon Child feels caught between a rock and a hard place, the
weeks between two eclipses can be trickier than other fortnights. So while you're
adjusting to what followed from the lunar eclipse on the 7th, keep in mind that
a solar eclipse is scheduled for the 22nd. That new-moon phenomenon will probably
call for further adjustments, particularly regarding travel arrangements or class
schedules. Try to remain comfortable while you're juggling a variety of
elements, and don't get too upset if you drop a ball. It'll bounce.

Leo

After so many summers, the latest brouhaha may feel like old hat. When your powerful
sun ruler is challenged by tiny, manipulative Pluto this weekend, the most confident
of Lions could roar his head off. Sounding tough could be an effective way of
dealing with power struggles, so if you're really frustrated, why not use
the mean and muscular Mercury-Mars conjunction in your Libra zone of communication
to get your point across? No need to keep the claws sheathed either; militant
Mars is not averse to drawing blood.

Virgo

You could be emboldened by Mars' merger with your Mercury ruler this weekend,
so much so that you'll dare to go where, under normal circumstances, no
cautious Virgin would. Since ballsy Mars doesn't meet up with the Messenger
that frequently, should you need a shot of Dutch courage, this would be an appropriate
time to take it. That their conjunction takes place in your Libra house of finances
suggests that you're liable to act on a money matter that's been on
your mind for a while. Is it reckless or is it about time?

Libra

The power of the spoken word could be revealed when vocal Mercury and virile Mars
meet in Libra this weekend. So much for the subtle hint, the implied good intention;
you're better off stating your case outright, especially if your world gets
nudged out of orbit when your amenable Venus ruler has to face whatever weirdness
Uranus tosses your way. This annual opposition may be exciting if it presents
an attractive alternative, but if you're enjoying a smooth ride and would
rather not have it interrupted, now would be a good time to sound off.

Scorpio

Is that a pickpocket eyeing your assets, or a close colleague? This weekend, while
the attentive Virgo sun challenges your all-or-nothing Pluto co-ruler, the competitive
spirit runs rampant. Be careful with whom you bet and what you stake; because
unpredictable Uranus in your house of games, romance and other risks is under
pressure, there's no such thing as a sure thing. To add insult to someone's
injury, your slash-and-burn Mars co-ruler, by teaming up with expressive Mercury,
can encourage you to say something you'll regret.

Sagittarius

Don't bother trying to be consistent while amiable Venus provokes a weird
reaction from Uranus this weekend. One day, you'll love it; the next day,
you won't. Today, you're the object of affection; tomorrow, you're
not. Meanwhile, it'll be difficult enough to understand the ramifications
of the sun's square to mysterious Pluto in your sign. Will the challenging
aspect affect a career situation or your personal power base? How is your employer
involved, and is a parent keeping a secret? These are iffy times; proceed carefully.

Capricorn

Oh to be a lawyer! Should your own negotiating skills need to be honed, now would
be the right time to get them razor sharp. Since both clever Mercury and acerbic
Mars are in your Libra midheaven, it shouldn't be that difficult to prick
holes in someone else's argument or, if you're still trying to be
diplomatic, to get right to the point. But if you don't have a killer instinct,
find someone to act as your hired gun. Even if you know what needs to be said,
you might not be in a position to say it. Or else stall until the eclipse is over.

Aquarius

Gather your Libra and Taurus friends so you can commiserate together. Maybe, if
they're not being overly paranoid, you might ask some Fish to join you.
This way, you can all react to the strangeness that occurs, the alienation that
flows from the opposition between your Uranus ruler in Pisces and normally affectionate
Venus. Their annual polarity may cause trivial upsets in your daily routine or
something as major as a breakup; it all depends on the luck of the draw. Speaking
of luck: A little comes your way on Tuesday.

Pisces

A good deal of our week is spent under the dark of the moon, the balsamic phase
that precedes the next new moon. That lunar event takes place in your Virgo marriage
house next Friday. Since it is also a solar eclipse, you'd be wise to do
as little as you can, except try to stay out of trouble, until then. However,
this weekend, romantic Venus is not on good terms with oddball Uranus in your
sign; therefore, the outrageous flirts among you (you know who you are) will have
a hard time containing their urge to make a memorable impression. Fingerprints?
Mug shots?
