The astro-atmosphere changes as romantic Venus moves from
earthy Taurus to airy Gemini on Friday. So much for relying on your senses;
now you'd better be verbal and/or versatile if you want to attract attention.
Sunday's new moon in Cancer begins a monthlong appreciation of your relationship
to family and food. On Wednesday, Mercury makes the leap from cautious Cancer
to bright and bushy-tailed Leo; however, that party doesn't last long.
Mercury retrograde starts on – of all terrible traffic days – July
Fourth and lasts until July 28. From the full moon on July 10 until August 10,
the Messenger transits Cancer again.

Aries

You may think you had your fill of domestic bliss when your Mars ruler, currently
in Leo, was in Cancer for the first time in two years. But now that the sun
is passing through your home base, there's more family affiliation (or,
depending on whether you're already fed up, affliction) to come. Despite
Mercury's move from Cancer to Leo on the 28th, the phone calls and conversations
won't stop for long; on July Fourth, the Messenger turns retrograde and
revisits Cancer from July 10 until August 10. Consider checking into a hotel
for the duration.

Taurus

Money matters could have a greater impact when your Venus ruler transits your
Gemini house of personal finances from June 23 through July 18. Cherished opinions
may change during this transit; what you thought was valuable last week might
not count for much after the Fourth. Nonetheless, don't discount the contribution
a partner makes, especially during the extremely fortunate weekend of June 30.
That's when the nurturing Cancer sun trines generous Jupiter in your Scorpio
marriage house. Accept the offer, share in the bounty.

Gemini

The Cancer new moon on the 25th could inaugurate a new financial venture, one
that you may find satisfying beyond expectations. Not that you're destined
to reap a huge profit, although that is a possibility, but the emotional payoff
can be especially rewarding. On a purely superficial, outward-appearances level,
having attractive Venus in your sign until July 18th couldn't hurt. You'd
be foolish to ignore the drawing power the goddess adds or downplay the importance
of the people eager to enter your charmed circle. Start the summer romance already!

Cancer

Of all the lunar phenomena that resonate in the tender soul of the Moon Child,
none strikes as significant a note as the annual Cancer new moon. The Cancer
full moon in the dead of winter is a close second. But a new moon promises new
beginnings, a fresh start and a propitious moment in the astrological year for
you personally. So take a moment to envision how you'd like to see the
next four weeks play out, remembering that Mercury is retrograde from July Fourth
until the 28th, most of that time backpedaling in your sign.

Leo

The two times a year that your sun ruler trines lucky Jupiter call up my favorite
I Ching pronouncement: “Extreme good fortune.” So no matter what
you're doing around the 30th, or who else is on the scene, you'll
be in an excellent position for the favorable events or emotions that follow.
Since expansive Jupiter is in Scorpio, family, neighbors and real estate matters
could be the areas that'll offer the biggest payoffs. Although there is
a chance that they'll also be the folks with their hands out asking for
“more, please.”

Virgo

A heads-up for Virgos who live by e-mail and phone: Your Mercury ruler turns
retrograde on July Fourth. Can you imagine the hell the holiday traffic will
be! It's not until July 28 that the Messenger faces forward again, so
if there's a vacation in your future, those would be the weeks to take
it. Few people attract new business or connect with new people during retrograde;
however, a visit to old friends could reveal information you now need to know.
Retrograde is a good time to re-evaluate, repeat and, if necessary, repent.

Libra

Like the summer solstice, the Cancer new moon accentuates the topmost position
in your solar chart. Since the new moon marks the beginning of a fresh lunar
cycle, look for an opportunity that will take your career arc a little further
out there. The Cancer vibe also emphasizes family connections and how they can
be strengthened. So if a relative makes a suggestion, think twice before summarily
dismissing it. You never know for sure how things are going to turn out. Besides,
there's a surprise in store when your amenable Venus ruler contacts innovative
Uranus around the Fourth.

Scorpio

As if you weren't feeling lucky enough, you're due for an extra
blast of good fortune when the water-sign-friendly Cancer sun trines protective
Jupiter in Scorpio around the 30th. The next time something this spectacular
will occur is in November, on the very last day of solar Scorpio. So make sure
that you maximize every opportunity you're given to become a more prominent,
more prosperous player in the game of your life. But if the reward isn't
immediately apparent, look again after Jupiter, currently retrograde, turns
direct on July 6.

Sagittarius

Read for Scorpio. It's your bounteous Jupiter ruler that's favored
by the Cancer sun, and so, by association, are you. Since the sun is transiting
your house of other people's resources, there's a good chance that
someone will cough up whatever you need. You're also about to receive
an assortment of goodies that Venus in your house of significant others decides
to offer; that is, after due deliberation as befits her short-lived placement
in dualistic Gemini. Pretty people bearing pretty presents, perhaps a partner
who gives good gossip?

Capricorn

Following close on the heels of the summer solstice is the Cancer new moon,
an event that should confirm the beginning of a relationship that can be quite
influential, probably for the next six months or until the Capricorn new moon
in January shifts the focus back to you. You may also sense that big changes
are in store, because gigantic Jupiter has been stretching your limits while
it's been testing your Saturn ruler. However, this expansion process won't
be completed until their final square aspect in October.

Aquarius

Surprise! Work may be the subject most on your mind during the Fourth of July
holiday. That's because farseeing Jupiter in your Scorpio career zone
is supported by the creative and caring Cancer sun. If that work involves food,
so much the better; the same goes for children and recreation. You're
also about to have your intrinsic idealism tested when brazen Mars in your Leo
house of partners urges you to participate in a venture that could be grossly
overrated. It won't be easy to withstand the pressure, unless you remember:
Patience is the key to heaven.

Pisces

Another summer in which you luck out. That's because Mercury's three-week
retrogression takes place in your house of recreation and entertainment. So
while other signs are anticipating equipment failures, scheduling snafus or
hassles with home repairmen, Fish face the prospect of delaying gratification
if their golf date doesn't show up on time. Unless you're in the
hotel or sports-event business, are running a day camp for kids or touring with
a band, Mercury retrograde (July 4???28) shouldn't have much of an
impact.
