Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Crash near Blue Lake Boulevard

BLUE LAKE, CA (October 24, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, one rider was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident on Highway 299. 

The fatal collision happened around 12:30 p.m., near Blue Lake Boulevard.

According to California Highway Patrol, a westbound motorcycle collided head-on with a logging truck that was traveling the opposite direction.

Medics arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. However, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Following preliminary investigations, officers ruled out intoxication as a potential contributing factor in the collision. In addition, the total number of parties involved and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

No further details regarding the motorcycle accident on Highway 299 have been released to the public. Blue Lake authorities will provide more information once available.
