Norm’s is helping the community bring home the bacon,  both Chica’s Tacos and M. Georgina have opened marketplaces and Rasselbock is back – here’s what’s popping up in L.A.

Rasselbock in Mar Vista is back, with take-out available daily, 5pm to 9pm. Call the restaurant directly for pick-up orders (310-439-2938), or order online here. Curbside pick-up and payment is also available. Beer and wine to-go, as well. Rasselbock Kitchen & Beer Garden Long Beach will be serving FREE hot dogs for kids on Friday, April 24. An anonymous donor is gifting 100 hot dogs with fries, and Rasselbock Long Beach is matching the gift with another 100 servings.

This week’s theme at Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is SCHITT’S CREEK, one of Ike Shehadeh’s favorite TV shows during quarantine. On Friday, score the David and the Alexis sandwiches, named after the hilarious cast, for only $5 when you order a regular Ike’s sandwich. The Alexis features ham, salami, Ike’s Schitt’s Sauce and American cheese, while the David is the vegetarian version made with vegan turkey. Every Ike’s sandwich comes with the option of lettuce, tomato, onions and banana peppers at no extra cost. The $5 options will be available at check-out on the Ike’s app. You can also redeem a kids sandwich for only $5 when you purchase one at regular price. Ike’s offers kid-friendly sandwiches such as turkey, meatball, grilled cheese and vegetarian options. Also, if you’re inspired by Ike himself, you can take home a bundle of Ike’s Famous Dutch Crunch bread for only $4.99 for a 6-pack.

NORMS’ recent free egg promotion resulted in the restaurant giving away nearly 575,000 free eggs to residents in L.A., O.C. and Riverside County just in time for Easter. Starting Wednesday, April 22 guests will receive a free pound of bacon for every $10 purchase ($20 gets 2lbs of bacon). This promotion is available for pickup at all 20 NORMS locations, while supplies last. NORMS will continue to offer its Care Packages that are ready-to-cook meals for the family, family meals which are hot-and-ready and value menu items that offer a large portion of food starting at just $4.99.

Chica’s Tacos (Michele Stueven)

Chicas Tacos has launched a new marketplace offering homestyle family meals and grocery essentials to Los Angeles residents. All profits will be used to support Chicas staff with food and supplies. Items available include to-go margaritas, Impossible taco meal kits, house made biscuits, cage free eggs, chorizo, toilet paper and face masks. For the marketplace, Chicas has also partnered with brands including Dry River Brewing, Later Days Coffee and family-owned Cacique which has donated a complimentary coupon to each meal kit. Pickup or delivery is available on Saturday and Sundays from 12 PM until 6 PM from the Culver City Chicas Tacos location. 100% of profits will go directly to support the Chicas Tacos staff and their families with food and needed supplies.

Chef Melissa Perello and the M. Georgina team at ROW DTLA open the M. Georgina Shop every Friday, offering CSA Boxes from County Line Harvest, house-made pastas, bread, bottled cocktails, wine and groceries for curb-side pick-up. Place your order online by Thursday at 10am, and pick up at M. Georgina on Friday between noon- 6pm at ROW DTLA.

Items include fresh semolina spaghetti pasta, semolina Malfadine pasta, or Tehachapi Grain Red Fife Casarecce pasta. Cooking instructions are included, and sauce suggestions are available upon request. From $8/pound.  There’s also a house-made sourdough Levain country loaf,  CSA boxes with farm fresh produce and bottled cocktails.

Parm Boyz quarantine style: The L.A. pop-up is back with delivery and take-out available every Sunday April 26th – June 14th at Ronan For $65 (food for two/vegetarian option available) try a spread of the signature Italian-American favorites like antipasti and Caesar salad, chicken and eggplant Parmigiana served with red sauce spaghetti. The dinner is capped off with a classic Tiramisu. Add burrata or focaccia for another $6. Large format cocktails include a dirty martini (gin or vodka), Negroni, Lil Itali, and Trop Top. Pre-order only via ChowNow. Pickup is between 4-6:30pm in 15 minute intervals to ensure appropriate social distancing measures.
