Steven Hill, the man police allege killed fellow porn actor Herbert Wong, was close to the victim, according to Adult Video News (NSFW). Once source called the two “the Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker of porn.” Wong reportedly helped Hill, who performed as Steve Driver, get video gigs.

Wong, a.k.a. Tom Dong, was killed in a machete attack that also wounded two others at Ultima DVD, Inc. late Tuesday in Van Nuys. The six-foot-tall Hill, who police said was threatened with eviction from the DVD warehouse he called home, remained at-large. AVN reports he recently worked on a spoof of the conservative Tea Party.

The film, called Tea Bagging Party, featured Hill and other actors wearing Ronald Reagan masks, according to the site.

One producer said Hill “came to all my parties and was always approaching girls.” That seems consistent with his MySpace page, which features a collection of photos of Hill posing with several porn stars, including Sasha Grey. Another source called him “mellow.”

But LAist reports that it obtained emails circulated among “entertainment industry” types indicating that some people were frightened by Hill's alleged transient lifestyle, display of weapons and general instability.

AVN, meanwhile, reported that one of the victims was cut so bad that he's in danger of losing a hand. Wong was reportedly stabbed in the back three times and did not immediately succumb to those wounds.
