Phil Jackson announced today he will return to coach the Lakers for another season.

“Count me in,” Jackson said in a statement. “After a couple weeks of deliberation, it is time to get back to the challenge of putting together a team that can defend its title in the 2010-11 season. It'll be the last stand for me, and I hope a grand one.”

The Times reports that Jackson had some medical tests done, which turned up good news, as he won't have to have a knee replaced.

Jackson, who will soon turn 65, seems to have come to his decision after reflecting on it, as only he can, at his Montana ranch.

He has more championship rings than he has fingers.
