Former Dodgers owner Peter O'Malley this week blasted Frank McCourt for dragging the franchise through the dirt as he fights with his soon-to-be-ex-wife in divorce proceedings over team ownership.

O'Malley, who owned the franchise for 47 years, told the Los Angeles Times that McCourt should sell the team because “the current Dodger ownership has lost all credibility throughout the city.” O'Malley even offered to look after the team while a more-suitable owner is located.

Public perception of such a treasured city asset isn't O'Malley's only problem, however. He doesn't like how McCourts “have used the Dodgers,” referring to revelations reported at LA Weekly and elsewhere that the couple pulled $108 million out of the team from 2004 to 2009.
