Before expanding fully into acting and television, Anderson competed as a Division I college basketball player at a historically Black college and university. Balancing athletics and entertainment required structure and discipline. Anderson credits basketball with teaching her how to stay focused under pressure and how to contribute to something larger than herself. Those lessons carried over into collaborative creative environments.
Expanding Into Film and Television
In 2021, Anderson joined Fox Soul’s talk show The Mix as a co-host, where she served for three seasons. The role introduced her to live television audiences and strengthened her on-camera presence. It also signaled a shift from music-focused appearances to broader entertainment work.
Her acting career developed steadily. She starred in the Amazon Prime and Tubi film Armstrong and is returning for its sequel. In 2023, she appeared in the Lifetime film Girl in the Closet. She later secured a lead role in the BET Plus horror film Trope and a recurring role in Season 2 of the BET Plus series Haus of Vicious. Anderson also serves as a talent producer on MTV’s Caught in the Act: Unfaithful.
In 2025, she received Broadcast Houston’s Actress of the Year award, recognition that underscored her transition into scripted television and film. Her upcoming project, the ALLBLK film Deb Is Boss, is scheduled for release on March 5, 2026.
