Airplanes towing banners that read “R.I.P May God be with the Fast & Furious star Paul Walker” were seen flying over Santa Monica and the Westside today.

The flyovers — we spotted two such planes cruising side-by-side — honoring the actor who died in a freak sports car crash in Valencia Saturday were seen from LA Weekly's offices in Culver City:

Walker died Saturday afternoon when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT he was riding in crashed into a pole, hit a tree and went up in flames.

The L.A. County Department of Coroner stated today that the Fast and the Furious actor died of “multiple traumatic injuries.” Driver Roger Rodas, a sometime racer and friend of the actor's, also died.
