If any one band could be synonymous with the spooky, sexy side of Halloween, it's The Cramps. Before charismatic crooner Lux Interior died in 2009, the band's hell-raising L.A. shows always signaled the season here. In this spirit, events maven/bar maiden Vanessa Burgundy presents a Cramps-themed weekend, with a burlesque show inspired by the band Saturday, plus an art show on Sunday.

For the Saturday event, some of Los Angeles' best-known bump 'n' grinders will be performing to Cramps songs at the Dragonfly, with performers including Kitten Devillle, Jewel of Denial, Courtney Cruz, Diamondback Annie and The Poubelle Twins. Afterward, goth-y gathering Helter Skelter takes over and everyone with a ticket to the show gets to stay for the revelry.

Sunday's event, “Aloha From Hell,” will feature a gang of artists presenting work inspired by the band at Boshin Gallery (next to the Burgundy Room).

Tickets here.

Expect the “goo-goo muck” goodness to continue all month long: Another gallery, downtown's Lethal Amounts, is throwing a Cramps event on Halloween, too!
