The appeal of Disney villains is a dark and deep-seated mixture of nostalgia, fear and fascination. There has always been something about Maleficent, the sinister siren from Sleeping Beauty, that made her arguably the most venerated and voraciously adored of all, and not just with Goths and pop culture geeks. Now that the theatrical version of her story, starring the beguiling Angelina Jolie, is about to hit movie theaters, expect Maleficent mania to gain full momentum.

One thing's for sure: The gay and drag community will have fun with her. Plastic Fantastic, the newish club we touted here recently, is devoting a whole night to the mistress of evil and mayhem. The club from Luke Nero and Andres Rigal will be offering giveaways from the film for the best costumes during its “Night of a Million Maleficents” event, and you can bet your horny headpiece that the looks will be as sexy as they are scary. DJs Aaron and Aaron provide the anything-but-sleepy dance sounds, and the party's always-colorful hosts are sure to bring character-driven ferocity that rivals anything Disney has conjured.
