Memorial Day weekend remains, hands down (and up) the most action-packed of party times. There are so many great events and parties – big parties that require outfit planning and, often, scheduled recuperation the following  ay. Here are our top three happenings, for extremely varied tastes, from fantastical frolic to retro rockin' to poolside grooving.
Myth Masque Ball
615 S. Broadway, downtown., Saturday, May 24, 8 p.m.-2 a.m., $55

One of the biggest dress-up events of the year has found a grand new gilded locale to backdrop its fantastical finery and otherworldly outfitting. Myth, formerly at Vibiana, now calls the historical Los Angeles Theatre home. It will feature a host of astoundingly garbed performers (aerialists, singers, dancers and mermaids … yes, mermaids!), DJs (including yours truly and Gothic club queen Xian), and more stuff your imagination could not begin to conjure.
