Between sourcing decor, coordinating rentals, booking entertainment, and attempting to recreate ideas, the excitement of planning an occasion can quickly fade under the weight of logistics. Party on Demand was founded to eliminate that burden from the get-go, transforming the event rental experience into a fully curated, stress-free celebration.

Founded in 2017 by Big Willie G, the company began in a university class, where he was asked by his professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to identify an industry that was yet to be “disrupted.” For Big Willie G, event rentals, especially for personal milestones, fit those criteria perfectly. He observed that customers were expected to know exactly what they wanted, while rental companies provided inventory alone, which left clients to assemble the experience themselves.

Today, Party on Demand is focused on delivering comprehensively curated experiences. Its upcoming website relaunch in March narrows the company’s focus to three verticals: backyard movie nights, baby showers, and birthdays. Each vertical is designed to offer a complete experience, bringing convenience with creative design to remove the stress from celebration planning. “Right now, we’re trying to make party services as easy as ordering fast food, but delivering premium, memorable experiences,” he says, highlighting the broader goal of the company.

Backyard movie nights, the flagship of the new offerings, center on what Big Willie G calls the three Ss. “It stands for screens, seating, and snacks,” Big Willie G explains. “Customers can get different sizes of projection screens, from 10 to 50 feet, choose seating that ranges from bean bags to floaties, and lastly, you have the snacks, which are arguably the most important thing.” Popcorn, cotton candy, churros, candy bars, and a soda station encompass the company’s snack offerings. “We turn your backyard into a dynamic movie theater,” he adds. The objective is that clients don’t have to source multiple vendors to piece together the elements of the event, and a single prompt with Party on Demand enables them to craft a cohesive experience.

Baby showers and birthdays are treated with equal attention to detail. Baby showers feature custom backdrops, signage, photo booth setups, and candy carts, creating visually striking environments tailored to the celebration. Birthdays arrive with DJs, speakers, projection screens displaying photo memories, photo booth backdrops, and even red carpets for the guest of honor. “We pull out all the stops for birthdays,” Big Willie G says. “You create your own little moment with your photo on a mini billboard and a red carpet.” Big Willie G highlights that the company can set up at any venue, whether indoors or outdoors, and clients can choose whether its staff remains onsite or provides a seamless drop-off service.

Party on Demand’s growth has been shaped by both rapid early success and hard lessons learned. Within three months of launching, Big Willie G generated revenue by assisting DJs who no longer wanted to transport their own equipment. Venture capital followed, but the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted everything, delaying inventory shipments and leaving Big Willie G to manage the business alone. Backyard movie nights emerged during this period as a socially distanced solution, later becoming the blueprint for the company’s current focus.

The company positions itself within what Big Willie G calls the “celebration economy,” recognizing that people participate in at least one significant celebration per month, whether birthdays, graduations, or retirements. His focus lies in eliminating the logistical burden, something that defined his entry into the business, and allowing clients to enjoy the moment itself rather than be preoccupied with its planning. “We help people celebrate life more often,” Big Willie G says. “You should get to enjoy the company you’re celebrating with, not be exhausted from organizing it.”

As the new version of the website launches, the company’s overall identity will reflect this refined vision. Big Willie G reframes the role of the company as a network of celebrationists, capable of transforming arbitrary ideas into memorable experiences.

With national expansion on the horizon, the company is poised to change how people celebrate milestones across the United States. Big Willie G remarks, “What makes a party memorable isn’t the decor or the location, it’s the experience you’re left with once the streamers are taken down. We’re in the business of creating those experiences.”
