Last weekend at Pacific Media Expo, we were blown away by the overwhelming representation of cuteness. From tea parties to purikura booths, the convention was brimming with all things adorable. Check out what we saw below.
Angelic Pretty Tea Party
Lolita fashion aficionados from across the country came out to PMX to check out the latest in sweet party outfits from Angelic Pretty and meet design stars Maki and Asuka. Girls and guys snacked on fruit and chocolate cake in an Alice in Wonderland-themed room while previewing the new collection. One couple let us peak inside their goody bags, which featured tote bags and notebooks covered in Angelic Pretty's unique patterns. Totally cute.
Jeweled Sticker Make-Up
We started seeing girls wearing rhinestone around their eyes last year, but this trend was much more prevalent at PMX this year.
Purikura is the Japanese-styled photo booth where you take your picture in front of a green screen and then draw on it afterwards. We caught these ladies as they began to pile into the booth for their photo session.
From hair bows made from Rainbow Bright sheets to kitten pins, the artist booths across the second floor of the Hilton hotel was filled with cute DIY goods.
Num Num Kawaii
Num Num Kawaii is a Little Tokyo shop that is open late and has a strict “No boy's allowed (unless accompanied by a girl)” policy. At conventions like PMX, owner Evan Tensing fills her stall with handmade accessories and grab bags that are part naughty and part nice.
