There were five sexual assaults on and around campus at UCLA in March, but they appear to be unrelated. The latest happened Wednesday at 3:25 a.m. near the Delta Terrace

Residential Suites and De Neve Drive, according to a UCLA Police Department Crime Alert (PDF).

Apparently the student stepped outside to use the phone when she was attacked on her way back to her suite. A young man grabbed her, pushed her down and straddled her before stopping and fleeing for unknown reasons, police said.

According to the UCLA Daily Bruin, a young man tried to sexually assault a woman in the 800 block of Hilgard Avenue in the early morning hours of March 5. Two gropings carried out by an older, short man were reported March 8 and 26. And on March 12 a date rape by a man who knew his victim was reported March 12.

Anyone with information about Wednesday's attack was asked to call UCLA police at 310-825-9371.
