Traffic Accident on First Street Left One Woman Hurt

FRESNO, CA (November 8, 2022) – Saturday night, one person was injured following a pedestrian crash on Gettysburg Avenue, police said.

It happened on November 5th, when police were called in about a crash at around 9:45 p.m., involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

According to police, a vehicle traveling westbound collided with a woman crossing the roadway near First Street.

Furthermore, the woman sustained injuries to her head and was left unconscious. Authorities transported her to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle did not see the woman crossing the street which caused the incident.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for preliminary duties.

The Fresno Police Department advised the public to use the nearest pedestrian crossing to avoid vehicle collisions. Further investigation is ongoing.
